This small gallery is named in memory of the late Mrs Rona Cole, the first Director of Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery. It was created in 1996, in order to provide gallery space for paintings from our permanent collection. The works on show are changed regularly and often selected to reflect the theme of the material displayed in the adjacent Exhibition Gallery.
The Rona Cole Gallery space was formerly occupied by the museum's original heating plant. At the end of its life, the old equipment was replaced by a much smaller unit located elsewhere, allowing the creation of this useful and interestingly shaped gallery.
