25 & 26 March (Sat & Sun)Mummies Weekend!Guernsey Museum at Candie10am-4pm every dayWhat better way to celebrate Mothers' Day than... visit our Egyptian Timewarp and make a mummy!  Activities are self-hosted and free: just pop in and help yourself.  Normal admission applies, Discovery Pass holders go free.
AprilIsland Explorers Treasure HuntGuernseyAll the timeTake part in our special treasure hunt for the Channel Islands Heritage Festival.  Adventurers young and young-at-heart are challenged to find the clues hidden across our historic sites. You can download the map on our website from 1st April. Good luck and safe exploring!  Return your treasure maps to Guernsey Museum to receive your prize.
14-16 April (Easter weekend) HistoryFestCastle Cornet10am-5pm every dayA three-day celebration of heroes, myths and legends!  This exciting theme ties in with the Guernsey Heritage Festival for 2017.  Featuring bags of Living History, cosy storytelling, live music, historical fun and family activities, trails and tours.  There'll be lots to see and do from Good Friday to Easter Sunday.  Our popular Easter egg hunt will go ahead on Sunday.  *Free with your Discovery Pass!*

30 May - 2 June (Tues - Fri)May half term activities: Fun with PharaohsGuernsey Museum at Candie2-4pm

We'll explore the Egyptian Timewarp and take part in fun, hands-on activities.  Aimed at children aged 5 and over but we hope that there's enough in the Discovery Room to keep younger children happy.  There's no extra charge for the activities. Please note that these are family activities and adults are requested to stay and join in the fun!

The Timewarp and Discovery Room will be open throughout half term every day, 10am - 5pm.

17 June (Saturday)Queen's Official BirthdayAll our sitesNormal opening hoursEnjoy free entry to all our sites for the day, including a 21 gun salute at Castle Cornet (don't forget to cover your ears!).  Our sites are Castle Cornet, Guernsey Museum at Candie, Fort Grey and the German Naval Signal HQ.
15 July (Saturday)Discovery Club Summer PicnicCastle Cornet10.30-12.30FOR DISCOVERY CLUB MEMBERS ONLY.  Step 'behind the scenes' to meet the Castle Keeper, find out about his interesting job and see him prepare for the noon day gun ceremony.  Please bring a picnic if you wish; we will be eating together on the top lawn weather permitting.  Booking is essential on 726518.  Price is £3 per child for the session.  Parents are not expected to stay.

3 August (Thursday)Discovery Club: Little SoldiersCastle Cornet10.30-12.00FOR DISCOVERY PASS HOLDERS ONLY.  This session is aimed at children aged 5 and under and their grown ups.  At least one guardian is requested to stay for the session and join in with the fun.  Together we'll bring alive the Castle's history with stories, games and fun activities.  Booking is essential on 726518.  Price is £3 per child for the session. 
5 August (Saturday)Discovery Club: How do Boats Float?Fort Grey10.30-12.30FOR DISCOVERY CLUB MEMBERS ONLY.  We'll explore this question with practical activities and challenges.  Perfect for budding young sailors.  This session will include playing with water so please can your child wear old clothes you don't mind getting wet.  The session will include a short 'break time' where children will have a story so they are welcome to bring a small snack to enjoy.  Please provide your child with a water bottle. Booking is essential on 726518 and the charge is £1.50 per child.  Parents are not expected to stay.

7 October (Saturday)Fun PalacesGuille Allès LibrarytbcFor this year's Fun Palaces event, we are joining forces with our friends at the library to bring you a day of free & fascinating things to see and do. Discover more about science, technology, history and art at this wonderful event.
23 - 25 October (Monday - Wednesday)I Spy Sci-FiGuernsey Museum at Candie1.30-3.30pmEnter the world of science fiction!  We'll be making models and cooking up strange concoctions in these workshops, to tie in with our current 'Engage Warp Drive' exhibition.  No need to book, no extra charge for activities.
28 October (Saturday)Haunted CastleCastle Cornet10am-5pmMark the forthcoming Halloween with a day of ghostly happenings, cosy storytelling, spooky guided tours and much more. Dressing up competition at 3pm for children and adults.
12 November (Sunday)Discovery Club: Cosplay Time!Guernsey Museum at Candie10.30-12.30FOR DISCOVERY CLUB MEMBERS ONLY.  Cosplay is the art of dressing as your favourite characters for fun. Experience visiting the Castle out-of-season during the weekend of this special event.  There will be a strong sci-fi theme at this year's Fayre, to promote the ENGAGE WARP DRIVE exhibition at Candie.  The weekend will feature:

23 December (Saturday)Discovery Club: La Longue VeilleGuernsey Museum at Candie10.30-12.30FOR DISCOVERY CLUB MEMBERS ONLY.  In Guernsey, December 23rd is known as La Longue Veille, where in bygone days country people would gather together and make things for market the following day.
