The FESTIVAL PLAYERS

present

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS

by William Shakespeare

Tuesday 1st - Sat 5th July (excl. Friday 4th) Evenings starting at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday 5th at 2pm.

The Company returns to the Castle in 2003 with the Bard’s farcical offering, “The Comedy Of Errors”. Based on an early Roman play, the shortest, and arguably the funniest, of Shakespeare’s works chronicles the misunderstandings which arise during the course of a single day when Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant Dromio, both separated at birth from their identical twins find themselves in Ephesus, where their siblings live. Confusion reigns! The Festival Players promise a Summer’s evening of Mirth, Magic, and Music, not to be missed!

ILLYRIA

present

ALI BABA AND THE FORTY THIEVES

Wednesday 23rd - Saturday 26th July inclusive; Evenings starting at 7 pm with a matinee on Saturday 26th starting at 2pm

Ali Baba stumbles across untold wealth in a secret cave when he learns the magic words ‘Open Sesame’. He is poor no longer. But when the Robber King finds some of his treasure is missing, he and his forty companions plan a terrible revenge on whoever has taken it. An exciting, swashbuckling adventure from the Arabian Nights, with no less than forty villains meeting forty grisly, sticky, and very Illyrian ends! Suitable for thieves and vagabonds aged 5 and over.

ODDSOCKS PRODUCTIONS

present

ROMEO and JULIET

by William Shakespeare

Saturday 16th - Sunday 24th August incl. (excl. 17th & 18th Aug) Evening performances starting at 7.30pm with a matinee on Saturday 16th at 2pm

Yes, Oddsocks are at it again, this time “Romeo and Juliet” gets the full, family friendly, madcap treatment from this popular and nationally acclaimed theatre company. As the summer heat comes to the boil, a couple of feuding Italian families are changed forever by two troublesome teenagers, one wedding, a funeral and a less than efficient postal system. Book early, bring a picnic and some tissues; you won’t know whether to laugh or cry!
